CrySnap is an AI-powered cry analysis and parenting companion app for new parents. It records a short clip of your baby crying, classifies it into one of nine common cry categories on-device, and returns a traffic-light verdict (🟢 Physical · 🟡 Comfort · 🔴 Regulation) with a confidence score and suggested next steps. Three expert chat personas (Pediatric Nurse, Sleep Coach, Lactation Consultant) answer follow-up questions, and a hands-free Voice Mode is available for the moments at 3am when you cannot open your eyes. CrySnap is a parenting companion. It is not a medical device, not a diagnostic tool, and not a substitute for professional medical advice.
The following data is stored locally on your device only using Apple's SwiftData framework and never leaves your device unless you explicitly share it:
No account is required. No user profile, name, email, or identifying information is collected by CrySnap.
CrySnap connects to the following services to provide the chat and voice features. In every case, requests travel through our Cloudflare Worker proxy (crysnap-api.love8ko.workers.dev), which injects the upstream API keys so that no upstream credentials exist in the app bundle.

CrySnap does not use any third-party analytics, advertising networks, or tracking SDKs.
Only Apple's built-in crash diagnostics are collected if you have them enabled. You can disable these in your device Settings under Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.
If you opt in via Settings, CrySnap may send a single local notification the day after a cry scan suggesting you check in again ("Yesterday at this time you logged a tired cry. Tap to check in."). All scheduling happens on-device using Apple's UNCalendarNotificationTrigger. We do not use OneSignal or any push provider, no notification content is generated on a server, and the feature is hard-capped to one notification per day, three per week, with quiet hours 22:00–09:00 enforced. Three consecutive dismissals automatically disable the reminder.
CrySnap is rated 4+ and is intended for use by adult parents and caregivers. The app records ambient sound for cry analysis, which may incidentally capture an infant's voice — but this audio is processed on-device only and never uploaded. We do not knowingly collect any data about a child that is uploaded off-device. If you have concerns about your baby's data, deleting the CrySnap app permanently removes everything from your device.

The cry classifier returns the most likely interpretation of a recording with a confidence score — it does not diagnose colic, reflux, GERD, or any other medical condition. The chat personas (Pediatric Nurse, Sleep Coach, Lactation Consultant) provide general parenting guidance grounded in published clinical guidelines (AAP, CDC, La Leche League) and explicitly redirect any diagnostic questions to your pediatrician.

AI cry classification is not 100% accurate. Always trust your parental instinct; if something feels wrong, contact your pediatrician.
CrySnap suggestions are not a substitute for a pediatrician's examination. For persistent crying that does not respond to feeding, changing, or soothing for over an hour; for any change in feeding, sleeping, or behaviour patterns that concerns you; or for any medical question — please contact your pediatrician or a registered children's nurse. The chat personas inside the app will say the same thing.
All cry scans, chat messages, baby profile, and preferences are stored locally on your device. Deleting the CrySnap app permanently removes this data from your device. No server-side record of your scans, chats, or baby data exists to be deleted. Your RevenueCat anonymous ID resets when you reinstall.
You can also clear your team chat memory at any time via Settings → Reset Team Memory without deleting the app.
CrySnap complies with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for users in the European Economic Area, the UK Data Protection Act for UK users, and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) for California residents. Because we do not collect personally identifying information, most data-subject rights (access, rectification, portability, deletion) are satisfied automatically — you already hold full control over your data on your device.
The app is US-first: emergency phone numbers shown inside the app and in localized listings are US numbers (911 / 1-800-222-1222). Users outside the US should rely on local emergency services for any urgent situation.
If we update this privacy policy, the revised version will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Material changes will also be surfaced inside the app.
