PestSnap is a photo-based identification reference tool for US homeowners and renters. It helps you identify pests, insect bites, evidence of infestation, and parasites on pets, and returns a traffic-light verdict (harmless · monitor · infestation risk) alongside suggested next steps such as DIY remedies or finding a licensed exterminator. PestSnap is not a medical device, not a veterinary tool, and not a pest control service.
The following data is stored locally on your device only using Apple's SwiftData framework and never leaves your device unless you explicitly share it:
No account is required. No user profile, name, email, or identifying information is collected by PestSnap.
PestSnap connects to the following services to provide core functionality. In every case, requests travel through our Cloudflare Worker proxy (pestsnap-api.love8ko.workers.dev), which injects the upstream API keys so that no upstream credentials exist in the app bundle.
No personal information, device identifier, contact data, or location is sent to these services.
Subscription purchases are managed by RevenueCat, a third-party subscription management service. RevenueCat receives:
RevenueCat does not receive any scan history, photos, chat messages, or pest data. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy for details.
PestSnap does not use any third-party analytics, advertising networks, or tracking SDKs.
Only Apple's built-in crash diagnostics are collected if you have them enabled. You can disable these in your device Settings under Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.
The in-app Action Panel may recommend specific DIY products (for example, over-the-counter traps, baits, or cleaning supplies). Product links may include Amazon Associates affiliate tags. The Exterminator Finder surfaces publicly listed licensed pest control businesses via the Yelp Fusion and Google Places APIs — business names such as Terminix, Orkin, or Bulwark are shown as public business listings under nominative fair use and not as paid promotions. PestSnap may earn a commission when you purchase through an affiliate link. This never changes the pest identification result.
PestSnap is rated 4+ and is intended for household use by adults. We do not knowingly collect any data from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted data through the app, please contact us and we will advise on local deletion (no server-side records exist to delete).
PestSnap is an identification reference tool. It is NOT a medical device, NOT a diagnostic tool, and NOT veterinary software.
The Bite and Pet scan features provide identification assistance consistent with documented bite or parasite patterns. They do not diagnose disease, infection, Lyme, allergic reaction, or any other medical or veterinary condition.
For severe reactions — including but not limited to difficulty breathing, facial or throat swelling, fever, or expanding redness — call 911 or Poison Control at 1-800-222-1222 immediately. For pet emergencies, contact Pet Poison Helpline at 1-855-764-7661 or a licensed veterinarian.
AI identification is not 100% accurate. When in doubt, consult a licensed medical, veterinary, or pest control professional.
PestSnap identifications are not a substitute for a licensed pest control inspection. For suspected termite activity, bed bug infestation, or any other serious pest issue, always consult a licensed professional exterminator. The Exterminator Finder is a convenience that surfaces public business listings; it is not an endorsement of any specific provider.
All scan history, photos saved within PestSnap, chat messages, and preferences are stored locally on your device. Deleting the PestSnap app permanently removes this data from your device. No server-side record of your scans or chats exists to be deleted. Your RevenueCat anonymous ID resets when you reinstall.
PestSnap complies with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for users in the European Economic Area and with the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) for California residents. Because we do not collect personally identifying information, most data-subject rights (access, rectification, portability, deletion) are satisfied automatically — you already hold full control over your data on your device.
If we update this privacy policy, the revised version will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Material changes will also be surfaced inside the app.
