CrySnap is not a medical service. If your baby shows any of these signs — fever in a baby under 3 months (≥100.4°F / 38°C), lethargy or unresponsiveness, blue lips, difficulty breathing, signs of dehydration, or any sudden change you can't explain — call your local emergency number (the app shows it for your region: 911 in the US and Canada, 112 in the EU, 999 in the UK, 120 in mainland China, 119 in Japan and Korea) or your pediatrician immediately. For suspected ingestion of a household substance, call your local poison control centre.
What does CrySnap do?
CrySnap is a companion for parents of newborns. When your baby cries, tap Crying now: the app listens for eight seconds to confirm the crying, then gives you timed soothing steps built from your baby's age, last feed and time awake — and tells you why each step comes first. Answer "Calmer?" afterwards and the steps that settled your baby move to the front next time. Three AI guides — Sarah (pediatric nurse), Emma (sleep coach) and Linda (lactation guide) — answer questions any hour. You also get soothing sounds with a sleep timer, the next nap window, evening prep, a two-week summary for your pediatrician and a one-tap handover for whoever takes the next shift.
Does CrySnap know why my baby is crying?
No app can reliably tell the cause of a cry from the sound, and CrySnap does not pretend to. The microphone only confirms that your baby is crying. The likely need — hungry, tired, gassy, wanting closeness — comes from your baby's age and the feed and wake times you log, and the plan shows its reasoning. Logging the last feed ("Just fed") makes the plan sharper.
It said it didn't hear crying.
Hold the phone about an arm's length from your baby and tap Record eight more seconds, or choose Show the plan anyway. If the recording went wrong, the plan has a Scan again button.
Can I use it without the microphone?
Yes. If microphone access is off, choose Get the plan without listening — the plan is built from age and last feed. You can turn the microphone on later in iOS Settings → CrySnap.
Who are Sarah, Emma and Linda?
They are AI guides, not people and not doctors. Their answers draw on AAP and CDC guidance. They do not diagnose, do not advise on medicine doses, and when you mention a warning sign they give you the emergency number first.
What is Voice Mode?
Tap the microphone in a chat, ask your question aloud, and the answer can be read back to you. Speech is turned into text by Apple's speech recognition (on your iPhone where supported); only the text is sent to the guide.
What is the pediatrician summary?
On the Baby tab, For your pediatrician puts the last 14 days of your own logs on one page: how many episodes, how long until they eased, the time of day, what settled your baby, and the questions you asked the guides. It is built on your phone; you can send it as a PDF, print it or copy the text. It lists what you logged — it is not a diagnosis.
How much does it cost?
CrySnap Premium is a weekly or yearly subscription, each with a 7-day free trial for eligible users. The price for your country is shown on the purchase screen before you confirm. If you don't cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the plan you chose is charged to your Apple ID when the trial ends, and it renews automatically until you cancel.
How do I cancel or restore my subscription?
Cancel any time in iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions → CrySnap. Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription. To restore on a new phone, open CrySnap and tap Restore on the subscription screen or in Settings.
Is my data private?
Yes. The eight-second recording is checked on your iPhone and deleted straight away — it is never uploaded or kept. Your baby's profile, history and summary stay on your device. No account, no analytics, no ad trackers. Only the questions you send to a guide leave the phone, as text. See the Privacy Policy.
What do I need?
An iPhone with iOS 17.0 or later. Plans, sounds and the summary work offline; the AI guides need an internet connection.
Which languages?
The app is available in 20 languages. The guides answer in the language your iPhone shows the app in.
