Privacy Policy
In short.
- Your answers go to DeepSeek, our AI provider, to write your scene. DeepSeek processes data in China.
- Each recording goes to ElevenLabs to make a temporary AI voice, one per chapter. Your recording is deleted right after that voice is made. The voice is deleted within 1 hour after your scene is made; in that hour you can re-voice one edit.
- Our server keeps your scene text for 1 hour, and your words, your answers and Herself's understanding of them as text for up to 24 hours, so a failed scene can be rebuilt without using another chapter.
- Your finished scenes stay on your iPhone. They are not backed up to iCloud.
- Purchases go through Apple. RevenueCat records them for us under a random install ID, not your name or email.
- No ads. No tracking SDKs. We do not sell or share your personal information.
- Herself is for adults 18 and older. It is not therapy or medical care.
1. Who we are
Herself: Manifest Affirmations ("Herself", "the app") is an iOS app made by Loveiko Labs ("we", "us"), a small independent app developer.
This policy explains what the app collects, why, who helps us process it, and how long it is kept.
2. What we collect and why
We collect only what is needed to make your scenes. We do not ask for your name, email or phone number.
Your answers
You pick what you want to change and write a few sentences in your own words (up to 600 characters). You may say how you feel about it. Herself reflects it back and asks two short questions; you answer them, pick how your voice should sound (calm, soft or confident), and may add something else (up to 300 characters). You may also edit the scene's words afterwards, by hand or by asking Herself to rewrite a line. We send these to DeepSeek to write and edit your scene. Our server keeps your words, your answers and Herself's understanding of them, as text only, for up to 24 hours, so that if something goes wrong (for example, the voice fails) the scene can be rebuilt without asking you again or using another chapter. What you write can be personal. We use it only to make your scenes.
Your voice recordings
Before each chapter you read a short text aloud (15–30 seconds). The app first checks the recording on your iPhone: sound levels, background music, and whether the words match. This check uses Apple's on-device speech recognition and sends nothing anywhere. The recording is then sent through our server to ElevenLabs, which makes a temporary AI voice from it. That voice reads your scene. One voice copy is made per chapter, and your recording is deleted from your iPhone right after it is made. See the Voice data notice.
Scene text
The scene DeepSeek writes is kept on our server for 1 hour, so that ElevenLabs can read it aloud in your AI voice and you can make edits. The text is sent to ElevenLabs for that purpose. If you edit a scene later, the app sends its copy of the text back for that edit, and it is again kept for about 1 hour.
Install ID
The app creates a random install ID. It is not linked to your name, email or Apple ID. We use it to count scene credits (one new chapter per week), to keep the extra chapters you buy, and to apply daily usage limits that protect the service from abuse. The app also attaches it to your App Store purchases (Apple calls this an app account token), so a purchase is credited only to the app that made it and a subscription is not used on more devices than one person would have. The install ID is kept in your iPhone's Keychain, only on this iPhone (it is not synced to iCloud). It stays if you delete and reinstall the app or use Settings → Your voice & data, so the chapters you bought come back; it is removed when the iPhone is erased.
Purchases
Subscriptions and extra chapters are sold by Apple through the App Store. We never receive your card details, name or Apple ID. We learn:
- Whether your subscription is active. The app sends our server your subscription's transaction ID. Our server asks Apple (the App Store Server API) whether that subscription is active, and keeps the answer for 1 hour before asking again.
- What you bought. When you buy extra chapters, our server checks Apple's signature on the purchase (or asks Apple about it) and records the transaction ID, the product and the time, so each purchase is credited exactly once.
- Purchase history, through RevenueCat. The app reports your purchases to RevenueCat, using the install ID as its user ID. RevenueCat shows us subscription and revenue statistics and helps restore purchases.
Your consent record
When you agree to the three confirmations, the app saves which version you agreed to, when, and each box separately. This record stays on your iPhone.
Safety check
If your answers mention self-harm or wanting to die, the app stops making the scene and shows crisis resources. We do not store that result.
Usage counts and service logs
Our server counts how many scenes, voices and AI requests are made each day, in total and without any IDs or text, so we can keep costs and limits under control. Its logs record only the route, the result and sizes — no names, emails, IP addresses, IDs or your text.
To make the app's safety filter better, our server may keep short harsh phrases you used about yourself (for example, "I'm lazy"), as single words or short phrases with a count, without your install ID or any link to you.
3. What stays on your iPhone
- Your finished scenes (audio and text) are saved only on your iPhone. They are excluded from iCloud backup.
- Your raw recording is deleted from your iPhone right after the AI voice is made from it.
- An unfinished questionnaire is saved on your iPhone, so you can come back to it.
- The app keeps a simple usage journal (for example, which screen you reached) on your iPhone only. It is not sent to us.
- If you use the Herself widget, today's line is shared with the widget on your iPhone.
- If you delete the app, the scenes on your iPhone are deleted with it.
4. Service providers
We use these companies to run Herself. They act on our instructions. We do not allow them to sell your data.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety of a person. If the business is sold or merged, this policy would continue to apply to your data.
5. Voice data notice
A voice recording and an AI voice made from it may count as biometric data under laws such as the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA), the Texas Capture or Use of Biometric Identifier Act (CUBI) and Washington's biometric law (RCW 19.375). We treat them that way.
- Purpose. Only to read your own scenes in an AI copy of your voice. Not to identify you, and not for any other use.
- Written consent. We ask before your first recording, with a separate checkbox. Nothing is recorded without it. The consent covers each recording you make.
- Who receives it. ElevenLabs only, as our processor, to make the voice.
- Retention. One AI voice is made per chapter. Your recording is deleted from your iPhone right after the voice is made. The AI voice is kept for up to 1 hour after the scene is made, so you can re-voice one edit, and is then deleted at ElevenLabs together with the recording it was made from. An automatic job deletes every AI voice when its hour ends. Deleting your data or withdrawing consent in the app deletes a live voice right away.
- No sale. We do not sell, lease, trade or otherwise profit from your voice data.
- No other disclosure, unless you ask us to, or the law or a court order requires it.
- Protection. Sent over encrypted connections and handled with at least the care we use for other sensitive data.
This notice is our public retention and destruction policy for voice data.

7. What we don't do
- No advertising, and no advertising or tracking SDKs.
- No tracking across other apps and websites.
- No sale of personal information, and no sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- No use of your voice for anything but your own scenes.
- No training of our own AI models on your data.
8. Your choices and deleting data
- Delete scenes and recordings: Settings → Your voice & data → Delete my scenes and recordings. This deletes your scenes, recordings, unfinished answers and a live AI voice.
- Withdraw consent: Settings → Your voice & data → Withdraw consent. After that, the app sends no new recordings or answers until you agree again; any recording and live AI voice are deleted right away. Your saved scenes stay on your iPhone and keep playing.
- Microphone: you can turn off microphone access in iOS Settings at any time.
- Server data: your scene text is deleted from our server automatically within 1 hour, and your words and answers within 24 hours. The records kept by install ID (credits, subscription status and purchases) are not personal content, and they are what brings bought chapters back after a reinstall. To have them deleted, write to us from Settings → Write to us (the email includes your install ID). Deleting them also removes chapters you bought and have not used.
- Subscription: cancel in iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel it.
9. Your US state privacy rights
If you live in California or another US state with a consumer privacy law, you may have the right to:
- know what personal information we collect, use and disclose;
- get a copy of it;
- correct it;
- delete it;
- opt out of sale or sharing (we do neither);
- limit the use of sensitive personal information (we use it only to provide the app);
- not be treated differently for using these rights.
Categories (California). In the last 12 months we collected: identifiers (a random install ID); sensitive personal information (voice recordings, and anything sensitive you choose to write in your answers); commercial information (subscription status and purchase history). We disclosed them only to the service providers in section 4, for the purposes described. We did not sell or share them.
To make a request, contact us (section 15). Because we do not know your name or email, we may ask for your install ID to find your data; an email sent from Settings → Write to us includes it. An authorized agent may act for you with your signed permission. We answer within the time the law of your state requires. If we deny a request, you may appeal by replying to our answer.
10. Where data is processed
Your answers are processed by DeepSeek in China. Other data is processed by our providers in the United States and other countries where they operate. By using Herself, you understand that your data may be processed outside your state or country.
11. Children
Herself is only for people 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe someone under 18 used the app, contact us and we will delete what we hold.
12. Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Provider keys live only on our server, never in the app. Access to our server is limited. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee it.
13. Not medical care
Herself is a self-practice tool. It is not therapy or medical care, and not a substitute for professional help.

14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. We will change the date at the top. If a change affects how we use your voice or your answers, we will ask for your consent again in the app before it applies.
