Marketing Policy
Effective date: May 17, 2026
Short version: We don't email-spam you, we don't sell your data to advertisers, and we don't track you across apps. Marketing communications from us are rare, opt-in, and easy to opt out of.
1. What This Policy Covers
This policy describes how Cysta AI ("the App") handles marketing communications — promotional notifications, emails, or in-App announcements not directly required to deliver the service you subscribed to. Service-essential communications (subscription renewal receipts from Apple, critical safety alerts, privacy-policy updates) are covered by the Privacy Policy and Apple's terms, not this policy.
2. What Marketing Messages We Might Send
If we contact you for marketing reasons, it would only be one of these:
- Feature launches. "New feature: Family TTC mode is now in Cysta" — typically 0–3 times per year.
- Major content drops. "We added the new ESHRE 2026 guideline to the Coach knowledge base" — when guidelines we cite materially update.
- Cohort-specific educational tips. If you opted into your cohort's newsletter via the App, occasional tips matched to your locked persona (Naomi · Tanya · Wendy · Maya · Anna).
- Beta invitations. Invite to TestFlight or surveys for upcoming features — only if you explicitly signed up.
3. What We Will NEVER Do
- Sell your email, phone, or any personal data to advertisers, data brokers, or affiliate networks
- Share your data with pharmaceutical or supplement companies for targeted advertising
- Track you across other apps or websites (no SDKs that fingerprint, no analytics-as-marketing tools)
- Send unsolicited promotional emails (we don't have your email unless you gave it to us directly)
- Imply medical claims in marketing copy (no "cure your PCOS" — see Medical Disclaimer)
- Use your photos, labs, or symptom logs in any marketing or promotional context, ever
4. How To Opt Out
In-app marketing notifications (if enabled in a future build):
- Settings → Notifications → toggle off "Feature launches" or "Cohort tips"
- iOS Settings → Notifications → Cysta AI → toggle off Notifications
Email (if you gave us your email outside the App, e.g. for support):
- Reply "UNSUBSCRIBE" to any of our messages
- Or email sergejkar@gmail.com with subject "Opt out of marketing"
Opt-out takes effect within 10 business days for any future bulk send.
5. Region-Specific Notes
- European Union (GDPR Article 21): You have the right to object to direct marketing at any time. We honor opt-outs immediately on our side; Apple/RevenueCat retain their own marketing-permissions records that you control on their respective platforms.
- United Kingdom (PECR + UK GDPR): Same posture as EU. Soft opt-in does not apply because we don't currently maintain a marketing email list.
- Germany (UWG + Bundesdatenschutzgesetz): Express opt-in (Doppelte Opt-In) would be required before any email-based marketing. We don't currently send marketing emails to German residents.
- Canada (CASL): We do not send commercial electronic messages without express or implied consent. Implied-consent expires 24 months after last in-App engagement.
- United States (CAN-SPAM): Any future marketing email would include sender identification, a physical mailing address, and a one-click unsubscribe link.
- Australia (Spam Act 2003): Same posture as Canada — no commercial electronic messages without consent.
6. Apple Search Ads & App Store Marketing
Cysta may run Apple Search Ads campaigns to acquire new users (queries like "PCOS coach," "PCOS tracker"). These ads are served by Apple based on Apple Search Ads' privacy-preserving model. We never receive personally identifying information from Apple about ad clicks — only aggregate, anonymized conversion metrics. See Apple Search Ads Privacy.
7. App Store Custom Product Pages
The App Store may show different App Store landing pages (CPPs) to different visitors based on Apple's matching against keywords and demographic context. Each CPP is identified by an internal slot (CPP-A through CPP-E corresponding to our five personas). No personal data leaves Apple in this process — we choose which CPP variant exists; Apple chooses which to show.
8. Marketing Permissions in Cysta
By default, marketing notifications are off in Cysta AI. You will not receive promotional in-app notifications unless you explicitly enable them in Settings → Notifications. Service-essential notifications (cycle-phase reminders if you've enabled them, weekly check-in if you've enabled it) are separate and not governed by this Marketing Policy.
9. Changes to This Policy
If we materially change this policy, we'll surface the change inside the App on next launch. The "Effective date" at the top indicates the current revision.
