Lessons

What does a lesson look like?

Three to five minutes on one phrase: listen to the recitation, read the meaning, tap each word or group of words to see what it means here, answer a short question, then recall the meaning without the translation and listen once more.

What is in Sakinah?

Al-Fatiha verse by verse and Āmīn; the other words of the prayer — the opening takbir, the opening supplication, seeking refuge, bowing, rising, prostration, between the prostrations, tashahhud, the prayer upon the Prophet ﷺ and the closing greeting; and short chapters often recited after Al-Fatiha (Al-ʿĀdiyāt to An-Nās).

My tashahhud is worded differently

Schools teach slightly different wordings. In My Prayer, swipe the wording you say and choose “My wording”; your path follows it. The same works for the opening supplication.

Does Sakinah check my pronunciation or my prayer?

No. You listen to the recitation and repeat it yourself. Sakinah explains meanings; it does not judge prayer, pronunciation or which practice is correct.

Recitations

The recording doesn’t play

Recordings download the first time you open a lesson and then play offline for up to 7 days. Check your connection and the silent switch, then tap the play button again. The words and meanings are always there to read. Some formulas of the prayer have no recording yet.

Ask

How does Ask work?

Prepared questions under each lesson are answered from the lesson itself, with sources. If you turned on AI answers, you can also type your own question: it goes through our server to an AI service that writes a short answer from the lesson’s material. Our server does not store your question. Turn AI answers on or off in Profile → Your data; “What’s shared” there explains exactly what is sent. Details: Privacy Policy.

Widget

How do I put a phrase under the clock?

Touch and hold the Lock Screen → Customize (and “Lock Screen” if asked) → tap the box under the clock → Sakinah → the wide widget → Done. In the App, Profile → “A phrase of your salah on your phone” plays a short guide and checks that the widget is there.

And on the Home Screen?

Touch and hold an empty spot → Edit → Add Widget → search “Sakinah” → choose a size → Add Widget → Done.

Which phrase does it show?

A phrase you have studied, with its meaning — a new one each day, saved phrases first. To keep one, open it in a lesson and tap “Keep on my widget”. Before your first lesson it shows the first phrase of Al-Fatiha.

Subscription

What does Sakinah Plus cost?

Weekly: $7.99/week with a 7-day free trial for new subscribers. Yearly: $39.99/year, billed when you subscribe. Prices in other countries are shown in your currency before you confirm. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. Family Sharing is supported.

How do I cancel or manage my subscription?

iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Sakinah → Cancel Subscription. Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date to avoid the next charge. Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription.

Can I switch from weekly to yearly?

Yes: Profile → “Switch to yearly”. Apple confirms it and the yearly plan starts at your next renewal.

I subscribed on another iPhone, or reinstalled the App

Open the App → Profile → Restore purchases, signed in with the same Apple Account. On the subscription screen, “Restore” works too.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds are handled by Apple: reportaproblem.apple.com.

Privacy

Do I need an account?

No. There is no sign-up. Your progress, saved phrases and conversations stay on your iPhone. Profile → Your data → “Delete my progress and conversations” removes them; deleting the App removes everything.
