Effective date: October 3, 2026
These terms apply to Sakinah ("the App") by Valerii Loveiko ("we", "us"). By downloading or using the App you agree to them. Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the "Standard EULA") also applies; if the two differ, the Standard EULA governs your licence to use the App, and these terms add the details below.
Plans. Weekly: $7.99 per week, with a 7-day free trial for new subscribers. Yearly: $39.99 per year, charged when you subscribe, no trial. Prices are in US dollars; in other countries the price in your local currency is shown in the App and on Apple’s purchase sheet before you confirm.
What you get. The App opens with a subscription screen after a short onboarding. Lessons on Al-Fatiha, the other words of the prayer and short chapters, the recall and review, the daily minute before prayer, Ask and the widget are available with Sakinah Plus or its free trial.
Payment. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm a yearly purchase, or at the end of the free trial for the weekly plan unless you cancel before it ends.
Automatic renewal. Your subscription renews automatically for the same period and price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the current period ends.
Free trial. The trial is offered once per Apple Account for this subscription group. If you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends you are not charged. Any unused part of a trial ends when you buy a subscription.
Switching to yearly. In Profile you can switch a weekly plan to yearly. Apple confirms the switch and starts the yearly plan at your next renewal.
Family Sharing. Sakinah Plus can be shared with up to five family members through Apple’s Family Sharing.
Cancel or change plans. iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Sakinah. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep access until the end of the period you paid for. Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription. We cannot cancel for you, because Apple manages the subscription.
Refunds. Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies: reportaproblem.apple.com.
Price changes. If the price changes, Apple tells you in advance and, where required, asks for your consent before you are charged the new price.
Restore. On a new iPhone, use Profile → Restore purchases (or Restore on the subscription screen) with the same Apple Account.
The Arabic text of the Quran is the Tanzil Uthmani text (tanzil.net), copied without changes. The English translation line is by M. M. Pickthall (1930). Recitations are by Mishary Rashid Alafasy, streamed from Quran.com’s audio service. The texts of the formulas of the prayer come from hadith collections named in each lesson. Explanations, questions and prepared answers are written by Sakinah and checked by a qualified teacher; lessons still in review say so on their Sources screen. The Arabic font is Amiri Quran (SIL Open Font License).
AI answers in Ask are written automatically from the lesson’s material and can be imperfect. Each answer shows the sources it relies on.
Sakinah is a learning tool. It explains the meaning of what you recite. It does not issue rulings (fatwas), decide between schools of law, judge whether a prayer or a recitation is valid, or grade your pronunciation. Where scholars differ, the App says so. For questions of practice, ask a scholar or teacher you trust.
You may use the App for personal, non-commercial learning. Do not misuse the App or its server: do not access it other than through the App, overload or probe it, or try to get around the subscription.
What you type in Ask stays yours. You give us permission to process it only to write the answer you asked for, as described in the Privacy Policy.
Sakinah is for every age. AI answers in Ask are for people aged 16 and over. A child under 16 may use the App with a parent, for example in the children’s mode; the parent is responsible for that use and for the subscription shared through Family Sharing.
The App’s lessons, explanations, design, icon and software belong to us or our licensors and are protected by law. The Quran text, the translation and the recitations belong to their respective sources and are used under their terms. Cartoons in the children’s mode are made and owned by their authors; we do not host or change them, they play in YouTube’s embedded player under YouTube’s terms, and they may stop playing if the author disables embedding. The name “Sakinah” and the icon may not be used to suggest that we endorse another product.
Lessons and their text work offline. Recitations need the internet the first time you open them, and AI answers need the internet and may sometimes be unavailable; prepared answers keep working. We may improve, add or change lessons and features over time.
The App is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties and are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from its use. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be waived.
We may update these terms and will change the effective date above; continuing to use the App means you accept the updated terms. Contact: loveykovl@gmail.com.
